North and South Gateway

Before we ZOOM in to have a look at the formations within the formations, I'd just like to point out North and South Gateway Rocks.

The formation on the left is South Gateway and on the right is North Gateway.

In accordance with the new master plan for the Garden, the road, which used to go between these two formations, was moved to go around the north of North Gateway.

On the west side of North Gateway (on the right) there is an old cavern.  It's not open to the public but the story is fascinating.  On the south end of North Gateway is Signature Rock and  the plaque that commemorates the gift of the Garden to the City of Colorado Springs.
