Dogs are allowed in the park on a leash. Owners must clean up after their dogs even in more rustic areas of the park.
There is an off-leash area where dogs can run. It is South of Gateway Road, West of 30th Street and East of the road into Rock Ledge Ranch.
Mountain biking is allowed in designated areas of the park. These trails are not exclusive to bikes, however so please be considerate of hikers and folks on horseback.
You must stay on the trails. Yield to hikers and horses.
Horses are allowed on all trails except the Central Garden Trail (the big wide sidewalk.) You can park horse trailers at South Spring Canyon Picnic area.
Climbing is permitted in the park in pre-designated areas with proper climbing equipment. Climbers must register online HERE. Registration is free. Climbers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's signature.
There are two designated picnic areas in the park: The Scotsman Picnic area and the South Spring Canyon Picnic Area. The tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Propane grills are allowed in the park except under extreme fire restrictions. Alcohol is not allowed in the park.
