The Sleeping Giant

The Sleeping Giant is best “identified” from due west of the giant, from Scotsman picnic area and from the Palmer Trail.

It’s said that afternoon is the best time to make out the giant sleeping there.  I used to be able to make it out.  But then something happened.

Dan, Toby and I were walking on the Central Garden Trail.  An older gentleman approached us and asked us a simple question.  Of course, he didn’t mean any harm.  In fact, he was quite excited to have a go at show and tell.

But his question forever changed the Sleeping Giant for us.  And I don’t want the horrible responsibility of “ruining” Sleeping Giant for you.

But I won't ruin it for you...

So, I’ll simply post the pictures of this formation and leave it at that.

Okay, stop begging.  You really - truly - really want to know what that deceptively sweet looking gentleman asked us?  Fine.  But I will not be responsible if you can no longer see the Giant.  Click here for the answer.
