Your First Stop:
The Garden of the Gods
Visitor Center

Even if you've been to the Garden before, I highly recommend the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center.

Here you will find a great little gift shop (a portion of the proceeds go back into the park), a cafe with spectacular views, the famous balcony, and friendly folks to answer all your questions.

We even have information in other languages!

And be sure to see the 14 minute movie.  Since the park is free, this is the only thing they charge for.

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center Hours:
9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Winter Months
8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Summer (Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend)

View from the Balcony!

Wander out on the balcony and get a picture with the sign - and Pikes Peak in the background.

I often have visitors stop at the desk and ask, "Where's Pikes Peak?"  I just point out the window and ask them if they think we framed it nicely.

The Remodel is Finished!

It was most definitely worth the wait.  The Visitor and Nature Center is now museum quality!  Geology, history, flora and fauna, a time tunnel and the new theater.  All updated and quite spectacular.

The Buffalo are back after a major face lift at an upscale salon.  The new background makes it a perfect photo op.

The Time Tunnel takes you back, back, back through millions of years, leading to...

The Geo-Trekker Theater.  As far as I know, no one had gotten stuck back in the time of the dinosaurs.

And be sure to sing along to America the Beautiful!

Upstairs, the Wall will take your breath away.

This exhibit is interactive!  Find out about all the flora and fauna in the park.

and...  Here's Theo!

Lifesized and looking good.

"Ha.  Do they actually think Theo wasn't purple?"

This gallery is just the beginning!  Enjoy the New and Improved Visitor and Nature Center and take in the great movie.  Have a buffalo burger in the cafe and buy a few gifts in the gift store.

Then, get out and explore the park.  That is, after all, what you came for.

The Visitor and Nature Center is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend; the remainder of the year it is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
